Las Vegas - Honeymoon
Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps has something for everyone - including Honeymooners. I have friends that just returned from a Las Vegas Honeymoon and they loved it.
When they were researching places to spend their honeymoon, they initially thought the city might be to flashy or artificial. In hindsight they realize they were wrong. They took in all the lights, glitz and glamor along with nature along the way.
They explored the hotels on the strip one afternoon. It was an adventure as they say. Every hotel on the strip has a story and a feature for exploring. For instance the Bellagio has a Butterfly conservatory and water fountain park and don't forget to check out the huge chocolate fountain all just steps away from the front desk. The Mirage has a swashbuckling Pirate Show outside the front entrance.
They booked a scenic helicopter ride that provided a memorable flight to the Hoover Dam and breathtaking Grand Canyon. They also rented a car and explored the perimeter of the city as well while enroute to the Colorodo River to float on a river raft and take in the wildlife along the riverbanks.
The nighttime activities included taking in a few Las Vegas shows. There are shows for everyone. They decided on Cirque du Soleil but realized there were tons of shows to choose from, making the decision a tough one. They used a discount book for 2 for 1 savings.
One day they spent just lazing by their hotel pool - which had a lazy river to float around for the afternoon. They found it extremely relaxing.
The evenings were cool and the days were hot so if you plan to go pack appropriately.

A number of times I have been on a cruise I have seen the bride and groom having their photos taken on board. So I thought I would write about cruise ship weddings. It is a great way to save money when you combine the wedding as well as the honeymoon into one. Some honeymoon couples that are looking for a destination wedding opt for a cruise wedding instead, as it truly combines luxury and ease all in one.
I have mentioned in another post that cruise lines offer honeymoon cruise packages but they also offer wedding packages. The event can be fully catered and of course the nuptials are officiated by the ship's captain.
Check with the cruise line as the wedding packages vary by cruise line. Carnival Cruise wedding package and Royal Caribbean Cruise wedding package offer simple wedding ceremonies right through to elaborate fully catered events with bar and entertainment. Disney wedding cruise package on Disney Cruise Lines will allow you to perform the nuptials at Castaway Cay, their private island in the Bahamas. You can even invite Mickey and Minnie along as you experience your Magical day!
